It's a pleasant surprise to see acknowledgment in the blogs for some great music, great musicians and a great legacy which is "Homegrown Funk/Homegrown Syndrome." I replaced Steve Potts when the band relocated to the Los Angeles area from Memphis. With Jerry's charismatic leadership and powerful vocals, the rest of the band were Bill Pittman, Norman Avery, James Lewis, Alvin Potts, Lionel Cartwright and myself. Moreover, I would be remiss if I did not give props to Yolanda Goodwin (formerly of the Ikettes) who also worked with us on a few tracks. If you enjoyed "Confrontation", another gem was the flip side of the record where Jerry and I shared vocals on a beautiful ballad called "You and Me Babe." I think it's a classic song that should be also be enjoyed by everyone. I'm currently writing plays in New York and producing music in Atlanta (still funky too!), but I wanted to take this opportunity to say "thanks" for acknowledging our music and to give a "shout out" to the guys. I trust you are all still healthy and prosperous. You all live gloriously in my heart...! Syndrome was used strictly for the release on Arista and the group was from Memphis, TN. We were signed to Arista by Larkin Arnold who left 2 weeks later to go to Columbia Records hence no album deal. We were bought to the label by Perry Kibble of Taste of Honey fame. After Arista we met Ike and went back to the original name. We had one song "Party Vibes" on the album "The Edge". I was also lead singer in the group "Brothers Unlimited" on Capitol records. We released one lp titled"Who's Fot The Young"I also released a 12" on Mercury Records under my name Jerry Jones called "Mysterious and Sexy". I'm currently working on a Contemporary Gospel cd.
Need any more info:
muzicman24@bellsouth.netUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14977293917122294221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7905485140099070336.post-4895891281378786632011-03-13T19:36:08.776-07:002011-03-13T19:36:08.776-07:00http://latentrecordings.com/cj_exclusives/renmin/r...http://latentrecordings.com/cj_exclusives/renmin/renmin_park.htmlB Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12040773835956764813noreply@blogger.com
